EXACT PRACTICE AND GAME TIMES FOR 9U-18U DIVISIONS ARE DEPENDANT ON NUMBER OF TEAMS AND INTERLOCK SCHEDULES AND WILL BE SET AFTER REGISTRATION CLOSES MARCH 19.  


2023 Player Evaluations

Where:                          SASCU Indoor Memorial Sports Complex 315-411 3rd St. SW
Why:                               To evaluate players in each division to make even teams

When:                            9U(born 2014/2015) April 1, 11am -1pm
                                           11U(born 2012/2013) April 1, 1:30pm-3:30pm
                                           13U(born 2010/2011) April 2, 11am-12:30pm
                                           15U/18U(born 2009-2005) April 2, 1pm-2:30pm

What to wear:           Baseball appropriate clothes, personal protection, clean indoor shoes


What to bring:           Glove, Helmet, Bat(if you have one please do not buy a new bat before talking to a coach)

While we would like all wanting to tryout to attend the above tryout dates, arrangements can be made for extenuating circumstances to asses a player on a different date.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE 2023 SEASON

SAMBA is run 100% by volunteers and we need your help to make the 2023 season the best one yet for our players.

If you are interested in coaching any division for the 2023 season,  please fill out the coaching application by clicking on the blue button.  We need multiple coaches for all division and appreciate all our parent volunteers.


EQUIPMENT LIST

Each Player will come to every practice and game with the following:

9U -18U

  • Glove
  • Gray Baseball Pants
  • Batting Helmet (9U-13U require a chin strap)
  • Cleats (no metal cleats until 15U)
  • Bat(please see bat requirements below or speak with your coach before buying a new bat to ensure proper fit)
  • Personal Protection(Jock or Jill)

6U &7U

  • Glove
  • Athletic Pants, baseball pants are best but any loose fitting pants that are easy to move in will do.  No jeans, No tight pants, No shorts.
  • Batting Helmet with a chin strap
  • Cleats or runners
  • Personal Protection(Jock or Jill)

BAT REQUIREMENTS AS PER 2022 BCMBA RULE BOOK

19.04 Bats
7U 30 inch, 2 5/8 inch max diameter, unlimited length/weight
drop – bats with greater than 2 1⁄4 in. barrel diameter must be
marked “USABB or stamped with BPF 1.15” (Bat Performance
Factor)

9U 30 inch, 2 5/8 inch max diameter, unlimited length/weight
drop - bats with greater than 2 1⁄4 in. barrel diameter must be
marked “USABB” or stamped with BPF 1.15” (Bat Performance
Factor)

10U & 11U 32 inch, 2 5/8 inch max diameter, unlimited
length/weight drop - bats with greater than 2 1/4 inch. barrel
diameter must be marked “USABB” or stamped with BPF
1.15” (Bat Performance Factor)

13U 32 inch, 2 3/4 inch max diameter, -10 max length/weight
drop, marked BPF 1.15” or “USABB”

15U A/AA 2 3/4 inch max diameter, max -10 weight to length
ratio, composite, aluminum or wood combination

15U AAA -10 max length/weight drop, Wood, Bamboo or
Wood Composite

18U AA -3 max length/weight drop, and marked “BBCOR"

18U AAA/College Prep Wood, Bamboo or Wood Composite

  • Wood, bamboo and wood composite bats are permitted in all divisions.
  • Wood composite bats include wood bats with fiberglass sheathing and wood barreled bats with composite handles.

Spring Season runs middle of April to the last week of June.   Exact dates will be posted once we see how the snow melts and when we are given the go ahead by the city to use the fields.

6U-11U practice and game times will be posted once teams are created and we know how many teams we have in each division.  13-18U play days and times are set once the interlock game schedules are created.


SAMBA is committed to supporting all baseball activities that are in compliance with viaSport, BC Minor Baseball, and Provincial regulations.

Pro-rated refunds or SAMBA credits will be provided should any of our governing bodies order the cancellation of baseball activities part-way through the Spring 2023 season.
