Summer Notes

Congratulations to SAMBA product, Keegan Moerike for being selected to the Midget AAA All-Star Game in Richmond. Keegan, one of two grade 10s, selected awaits the announcement of the BC Midget AAA team for the 2009 National Chamiponships in Fredericton, NB in August.
AND, congratulations to SAMBA Bantam player, Reid Foreman for being selected to the 2009 Pacific National Championships Grad 2013 BC team August 14th-16th in Portland, Oregon.
Best wishes to both boys!
Lastly, our PeeWee AA and Midget AA teams will be in Rutland this July 25th & 26th weekend for zone playoffs.

PeeWee Development
For those peewee players interested in practice outside of games, learning more detailed skills and possibly extending their season beyond Spring league, you can attend PeeWee Development on Tuesdays at Elk's Park. Start time: 3:30 pm. For more information contact: Bob Fukumoto @ 250-832-2820.

Spring Notes

1. Registrations
Registrations are still being accepted
2. Peewee Assessment Day
Wednesday, April 15th @ 5:45 pm at Elk's
3. Mosquito Practice for all mosquitos
Thursday, April 16th @ 5:45 pm at Elk's
4. Diamond Clean-up Day
Sunday, April 26th at Elk's Start time: 9:30am. This is the day for parents and players to come on out and help get our diamonds in shape for the season. Please bring a rake, shovel and/or edger as we groom the infields, and paint one dugout. Many hands make light work! :-)
5. Next SAMBA Executive meeting
Wednesday, April 22nd at 8:00 pm in the library at South Broadview Elementary. We require volunteers:
- to manage equipment going out to teams and coming in
- manage sponsors (see forms for duties)
- an umpire assignor during the season
- and be the Mosquito Division manager (see forms for duties).
Umpires Wanted

Salmon Arm Minor Baseball is seeking persons to umpire at all levels. All umpires are paid. Kids have to be Pee Wee age in order to umpire. The free clinic is on Sunday, April 19th at South Broadview School starting at 9:00am. Bring your glove and call Dennis at 250-832-7958 to register.
2009 Registration

2009 registration is now on, from March 1-28, 2009. Registration forms are now available - please go to Forms to print a copy. Please mail your completed form and payment by March 28th to:

or drop off at Chevy's Sports Excellence. Players registered last year will have a registration form e-mailed to them. We are trying to save costs from mail-outs so please include your e-mail address (please write neatly!) on your form - Thanks!
2009 Annual General Meeting

Salmon Arm Minor Baseball Association (SAMBA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 @ 7:00 p.m. @ South Broadview Elementary School. In order to fill numerous positions, all parents of kids planning to play Baseball in 2009 are requested to attend. There is not a lot to do but we sure can use your help so please come out to the meeting a give a little bit of time to make 2009 a really great year!
